Design-Specific Large-Format Digital Displays Create New Clients and New Opportunities For NanoLumens® at InfoComm 2013

A new wave of truly unique digital displays is poised to change the way advertisers, corporations, retailers and consumers think about digital signage and displays, according to a prediction made today by NanoLumens President, Rick Cope, on the opening day of INFOCOMM 2013. Cope issued today’s prediction as the company unveiled its new line of Design-Specific (DS) Displays at Booth #4981.

“Traditionally,” Cope explained, “large-format displays have been limited to the ‘box’ — fragile, heavy, labor and maintenance-intensive, power-hungry rectangular solutions that could never quite escape the appearance of being nothing more than a big, bulky billboard or TV.  Consumers tend to dismiss these displays because they have become so commonplace. It’s hard to make the impact you’re looking for in an increasingly distracted world, and the burden of drawing people’s attention falls on the shoulders of the content creators. Until now.”

The Medium Is Now As Impactful As The Message:
With NanoLumens’ breakthrough ability to design and manufacture large-format LED displays in virtually any size, shape, curvature, purchasers of large-format digital signage have realized that they are no longer bound by the traditional limitations of this type of digital display technology.  With the added benefits of flexing to fit any curvature, being thinner, lighter and eco-friendly, the future of large-format digital signage just got brighter.

“Now the medium is as impactful as the message,” Cope said. “From convention centers and stadiums to retail establishments and public transportation hubs, customized large-format LED signage is allowing facility owners and advertising network operators to present their messaging in a more unique and engaging way than ever before.”

What’s more, according to Cope, societal changes are opening the floodgates for digital signage opportunities all over the world.  It is estimated that more than 60 million people move to urban areas every year, and there are now more than 500 cities with more than one million inhabitants.  “These cities offer huge new Digital-Out-Of-Home advertising opportunities, and the growth of metropolitan areas is a worldwide trend that will invariably lead to the expansion of major public transportation hubs, entertainment facilities and shopping centers.  When you consider that there are currently more than 800 international airports and more than 11,000 stadiums of varying sizes, it becomes clear that there is an enormous market for large-format LED displays.”

NanoLumens has manufactured and installed hundreds of state-of-the-art display solutions for forward-thinking retailers, sports arenas, casino gaming manufacturers and Fortune 500 corporations. “Given the overwhelming response to our Design-Specific displays, it is clear that NanoLumens’ technology is freeing people’s imaginations to envision a world where the digital message is not only seen, but also experienced through the design of the medium.

“This trend of creating digital spaces designed to engage consumers in powerful new ways is progressing rapidly,” Cope added, “and we expect that 2013 will be an explosive year for design specific large-format LED displays. NanoLumens is proud to lead the digital display industry in this direction and we look forward to helping our customers realize their digital visions, no matter how brazen or bold. We welcome the challenge.”

NanoLumens’ NanoSlim DS and NanoFlex DS Series are a bold departure from the traditional one-size-fits-all design paradigm that has been a mainstay of the display industry for decades.  Available in 4mm, 5mm and 6mm pixel pitches, the NanoSlim DS and NanoFlex DS Series allow customers to specify truly unique displays in their designs and open the door for corporations, retailers and venue operators to create a completely original digital experience.

NanoLumens displays are extremely slim, ultra-lightweight, energy efficient, and feature a bright, seamless, high resolution picture quality that can be viewed from any angle throughout the display horizon without color shift or image distortion. The company’s patented display technology, which allows customers to select from 4mm, 5mm, or 6mm pixel pitch (depending on the model), promises to transform the way marketers engage their customers in every type of trade show, retail, hospitality, stadium, arena, transportation and public event environment.

All NanoLumens displays accept input from nearly any device or content management system. There is no need for special software, hardware or special personnel to display content beautifully.  With a profile of only a few inches, NanoSlim DS and NanoFlex DS can be installed on virtually any surface without being obtrusive, adding the ‘WOW’ factor to any environment without taking up precious space.  NanoLumens’ patented display technology is optimized for indoor use, operating with virtually zero heat or noise while producing bright, rich, consistent color as well as superior off-axis viewing with no color shift or image distortion throughout the display horizon.

NanoLumens’ technology has been named ‘Best Large-format LED Display’ of the year by Signage Solutions magazine in its 2012 Product of the Year awards program, as well as being recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as a 2011 future-proof tech trend and cited by The Wall Street Journal in its 2010 Technology Innovations Awards.  NanoLumens’ technology also received the 2011 Breakthrough Technology of the Year Award at the American Technology Awards.  Digital Signage Magazine awarded the NanoLumens NanoFlex a 2011 DIGI Award for “Best New Display Device – Non-LCD or Plasma.”

First Complete Implementation of Google 360° Tour Launches at Ibis Bay Beach Resort!

In September 2012 Google said that its 360° Tours would bring true all-access virtual tours to hotels, resorts and retail stores all around the world, and that future starts today with the launch of Ibis Bay Beach Resort’s new website featuring an all-inclusive Google 360° Tour! According to Ibis Bay owner Chris Holland, the website has been redesigned to capture the unique character and flavor of Ibis Bay in Key West, and the virtual tour is the ultimate way for vacationers to see exactly what they’ll get and what the resort offers.

“People say that Key West is like no other place on Earth, and Ibis Bay Beach Resort is like no other place in Key West. Now with the Google 360° Tour on our new website, every potential guest can see right into each room style we offer and find out exactly what they’ll get, plus stroll along our docks, into our restaurant, up to our tortoise and macaw cages and out onto our beautiful white sand beach. It’s an amazing step up from resort photos that I think is going to change the way people book their vacations. We made sure to highlight the tour in several locations on the new website so visitors don’t miss their chance to experience the resort before they book.”

Over the last two years Ibis Bay Beach Resort has seen a multi-million dollar renovation that includes redesigned rooms, new furnishings, new landscaping, and the opening of the fresh-as-it-gets Stoned Crab restaurant that specializes in stone crab dishes.  Ibis Bay has quickly become a favorite among travelers and locals and is already having a big impact on the local community through the many events and fundraisers it hosts.

“We don’t want to be the Ritz Carlton,” Holland emphasized, “and have that hotel chain sameness because it’s so boring!  We’re looking to provide travelers with a unique experience that allows them to enjoy the Key West of the 1950s while utilizing the advantages of modern technology to ensure a pleasant and fun-packed stay.  The Google 360° Tour is a great addition to the modern side of our appeal that shows in bright, beautiful images how we’ve kept the 1950s alive at Ibis Bay.”

The resort has a lot going for it: one of only eight private beaches in Key West, the island’s only flats fishing boat ramp onto the beautiful Ibis Bay, the boat-to-table Stoned Crab seafood restaurant that has two of it’s very own fishing boats delivering daily catches, and two new water walkways for guests to swim and snorkel right outside their rooms. Now all of this can be viewed up close and personal with the Google 360° Tour. On the virtual tour visitors can walk around the entire resort and through each room style using the arrow on the screen, or jump to any area they desire with the tabs located just below the tour window.

“Since I began renovating Ibis Bay two years ago we’ve made incredible improvements and progress, creating a truly unique destination that has everything a traveler could ask for,” Holland said in closing.  “From the gorgeous beaches and ocean views to the updated rooms, friendly service and stellar dining, we’ve got it all.  So whether you’re going on a family vacation, a honeymoon retreat or a weekend fishing trip, Ibis Bay is the place to stay. And you don’t have to take my word for it, because now you can check out the entire resort from the comfort of your own home before you book!”

Niles Brings The Party To The Backyard With High Quality Garden Speakers For Any Location

Summer is here, and for a lot of homeowners the backyard is now their prime entertaining and living space. After they set up the tables, umbrellas, chairs, hammocks and grill, a lot of people realize something is missing. Music! Luckily, where clumsy battery-powered boomboxes once reigned supreme, permanent high performance outdoor speakers like the Niles® GS Garden Speakers are staking new ground and delivering superior quality and volume that ensures a summer of backyard fun, no weekly setup required!

Constructed with UV-stabilized ABS plastic, the same material used to build whitewater canoes and golf club heads, the Niles GS4 Loudspeaker looks just like a garden light and ensures years of trouble-free performance that can withstand just about any weather and climate that mother nature can throw at it.

One thing that is absolutely necessary for outdoor audio is that it can reach far and wide, and not just directly in front of the speakers. That’s why these Niles speakers are specifically designed with wide dispersion characteristics, which create an indoor quality audio experience that sounds just as good playing classical overtures as they do pounding out heavy metal. Any homeowners with an AV receiver can simply run speaker wires to the Niles GS4 speakers, place them wherever they want, and start enjoying incredible audio outdoors!

The engineers at Niles left no stone unturned when developing these speakers, and designed a 4” mineral-filled polypropylene woofer that delivers long-lasting performance with rich, deep sound, and a 1” Teteron® tweeter with ultra-wide dispersion to maximize the sound quality in outdoor environments. With the included UV-resistant cables and waterproof wire-nuts, owners can enjoy long-lasting, trouble free, reliable connections. Plus, with the pre-installed wall-mount brackets and Niles’ Twist & Lock® connection, the speaker can easily be mounted on a wall or stake-mounted anywhere in the yard!

To drive home the power of every drum hit and bass line, the Niles GSS10 10” In-Ground Subwoofer pumps out up to 110 dB of theater quality bass. And it does this without taking up a big footprint in the yard, thanks to its ingenious design that allows the sub to be planted in the ground, with only a mushroom-like port tube sticking out of the surface. Constructed from industrial strength PVC, the GSS10 will provide years of listening pleasure when installed properly.

With a recommended burial depth of just 16”-18” and dimensions of 14” x 30”, installation is simple and the subwoofer can be placed just about anywhere. All GS Garden Speakers are backed by Niles’ Limited Lifetime Warranty. For more information on Niles’ GS Garden Speakers, please visit http://www.nilesaudio.com.
