NanoLumens Flexible LED Display Named 'Most Creative Display Technology' At DSE 2012 By rAVe [Publications]

NanoLumens®, the pioneering Norcross, Georgia-based company that last year introduced the world to large format flexible digital display technology today announced that it has been awarded rAVe [Publications] ‘Most Creative Display Technology’ award at DSE 2012 for its 112-inch flexible, light-weight LED display.

“In receiving this award, we are thrilled to have our breakthrough LED display technology recognized by rAVe [Publications],” said Rick Cope, President & CEO of NanoLumens. “We continue to revolutionize the digital signage industry by producing state-of-the-art flexible displays that can be utilized in an endless number of environments that rely on digital signage, including retail spaces, corporations, event venues, production companies, and out-of-home-advertisers. Our 112-inch, thin and light-weight LED displays can be placed on curved walls or wrapped around columns, allowing for digital displays to be used in ways previously thought impossible.”

Every year after the Digital Signage Expo, rAVe [Publications] gives out their Digital Signage CHAMPS awards to the products and solutions that they believe are the best of the best. NanoLumens’ award-winning product is currently being featured in the latest issue of rAVe DS, and the full line of NanoLumens displays will be shown at INFOCOMM 2012 at NanoLumens Booth #N2169 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

First introduced in 2010, NanoLumens award-winning LED displays remain the only solution of their kind.  NanoLumens displays are extremely slim, ultra-lightweight, energy efficient, and feature a seamless, edge-to-edge picture quality (up to a brightness of 5,000 nits) that can be viewed from any angle or any distance without color shift or picture drop-off. The company’s patented display technology, which allows customers to select from 4mm up to 10mm pixel pitches (depending on the model), promises to transform the way marketers engage their customers indoors and out of doors in every type of trade show, retail, hospitality, stadium, arena, transportation and public event environment.

NanoLumens displays are designed and engineered with the environment in mind, and consume significantly less energy per-square foot than conventional digital displays. Further emphasizing their commitment to eco-friendly technology, the NanoLumens displays are composed of up to 50% reclaimed materials, and are completely recyclable.  What’s more, some new NanoLumens displays can be serviced from the front, making maintenance easier than ever before possible.

Designed and assembled entirely in the United States, NanoLumens displays are available in both flexible and fixed frames in five product lines: NanoFlex™, NanoFlex Wrap™, and NanoFlex Ribbon™ flexible displays; NanoSlim™ fixed rectangular displays; and NanoShape™ fixed round, square, and triangular displays.

The company’s technology has been recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as a 2011 future-proof tech trend and was cited by The Wall Street Journal in its 2010 Technology Innovations Awards.  NanoLumens’ technology also received the 2011 Breakthrough Technology of the Year Award at the American Technology Awards. Digital Signage Magazine awarded the NanoLumens NanoFlex a 2011 DIGI Award for “Best New Display Device – Non-LCD or Plasma”.

Switzerland's Most Exclusive New Residential Community To Feature ELAN g! Entertainment & Control Systems

In Switzerland’s newest, most expensive apartments, which start at $28,000 (USD) per square foot, buyers can be sure that every room of each residence includes the very best materials and latest cutting-edge technology.  That’s why Rainford Property Developers and the award-winning Swiss architecture firm Cittolin Polli have announced a partnership with HomeTech Europe and C+O Architectes en Domotique to equip every one of these magnificent homes at Les Voiles du Léman with the world’s easiest-to-use total home control system, ELAN® g!

Now breaking ground on the shore of beautiful Lake Geneva, the Les Voiles du Léman apartments will each be outfitted with an ELAN g! system to control the Lutron lighting and motorized windows shades, heating, air conditioning, security and intercom system.  What’s more, the owners can expand their g! system to integrate multi-room audio, multi-room HD video, surveillance cameras and pool/spa controls.

Each of the six apartments, which feature 1,350-4,000 square feet of living space, have their own balcony or sun deck, spa, finished basement and offer breathtaking views of Lake Geneva on one side and the Swiss Alps on the other.  Two of the units even have private swimming pools and 2,000-3,000 square feet of private gardens.

According to Patrick Polli of Rainford, “Les Voiles du Léman is a dream community, a collection of the greatest architecture, design, materials and technology the world has to offer. To own an apartment at Les Voiles du Léman is a statement in and of itself, that the owner spares no expense to be surrounded by the best of the best.  It offers views of two of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps, complemented with state-of-the-art technology that will even let the owners take in the views through high definition surveillance cameras when they are halfway around the world.  Technology is one of the most important things in people’s lives today, so in these residences, and in many Rainford will design and build in the future, integrated entertainment and control systems will become a standard feature that we offer.”

“Starting at $28,000 per square foot,” said Jim Beaumont, Director at HomeTech Europe, “Les Voiles du Léman promises to be Switzerland’s most exclusive community where buyers are treated to the very best, from construction and design to appliances and modern technologies. The people who buy these homes expect and will receive the very best in every category. And when it comes to entertainment and control, the ELAN g! system was the logical choice.

“It is hands-down the easiest system to install, the easiest to maintain and update, and absolutely the easiest for the owners to use and enjoy. When it comes to these buyers the word ‘operate’ need not apply—the word ‘enjoy’ is all that’s required.  With one simple interface that is the same on every control device, whether it’s an in-wall touch panel or an iPad, ELAN g! gives owners a powerful, easy-to-use home control experience.”

Les Voiles du Léman was originally planned to be seven apartments, until one enterprising buyer combined two of the spaces into the largest and most technologically advanced of them all.  It will utilize every feature of the ELAN g! system, save for the irrigation function.  He’ll be able to control his 7.1 surround sound theater, multi-room HD video, multi-room audio with iPod docks and satellite radio, surveillance cameras and pool/spa controls right from his iPads, several in-wall touch screens located throughout the living space, and several HR2 handheld remotes designated for specific TVs and media centers.

Currently, most of the six apartments have sold, and Cittoni Polli expects to have buyers for the remaining units soon. The project is underway and will be in construction through summer 2013.  For more information visit www.les-voiles-du-leman.ch.

The ELAN g! Entertainment and Control System provides users with the most uniform and intuitive icon-based control from their favorite devices including TVs, touchscreens, touchpads, PCs, iPhones and iPads. The standardized interface works across platforms, so that the trendy g!Mobile app users love on the iPhone appears and works similarly on ELAN touchscreens, valets and handheld remotes as well as users’ televisions and mobile devices. And the system’s IP backbone makes it just as easy to control the system from across the room – or across the globe.
Individual apps for each subsystem allow the user to control security, climate, lighting, media, irrigation, pool/spa, messaging, video and photos with the flick of a finger. Access is fast and secure through any ELAN home interface or globally with mobile Internet enabled devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and notebooks. Since the intuitive interface empowers users with personalized scheduling and detailed history views, high consumption subsystems like lighting and climate can be closely monitored and managed for a greener lifestyle – and substantial energy savings.

High impact customer engagement is set to rise to a whole new level of brilliance at next month’s American Institute of Architect’s annual conference in Washington, DC, when the leading façade engineering and design consulting firm Axis Façades International unveils a specially designed LED video wall as part of its trade show exhibit. According to Josh Byrd, Director of Marketing at NanoLumens®, the pioneering Norcross, Georgia based developer of the world’s first and only flexible LED displays, is creating a 9’ x 9’ 4.5mm pixel pitch seamless video wall that Axis Façades will use to showcase its portfolio of work to trade show attendees.

"This is exactly the kind of high impact, customer engaging environment that NanoLumens displays were designed to stand out in," Byrd explained today. "We are very proud to be partnering with Axis Façades to showcase their award-winning projects."

According to Byrd, the massive display will weigh only 383 pounds and is less than three-inches thick. What’s more, the display will feature easily adjustable brightness levels and a 960 Hz refresh rate that results in superior image quality, even on camera, while emitting virtually no heat or noise.

“By utilizing the NanoLumens display in their booth, Axis Façades will be able to show off, in brilliant fashion, projects in the US and around the world for the attendees of this year’s AIA show. Show attendees will be able to see with great clarity the unique features and materials of the projects,” he emphasized. Byrd also noted that the host location for the show, the Walter E. Stampede Helps Chile's Lumina Motion Create Massive One-Of-A-Kind 3D Video Mapping Experience For Launch Of Nokia Lumia 800 Smartphone

Proving once again that it has unbeatable product selection and extensive knowledge of the ProAV market, Stampede Presentation Products, Inc. recently helped Lumina Motion construct a stunning 10,000 square foot video display on the facade of a round building in Santiago, Chile by providing the ideal equipment and precise development insight needed.

The audiovisual team at Lumina Motion was tasked with creating an exciting and memorable product launch for Nokia’s new Lumia 800 smartphone, and they succeeded by working with Stampede to utilize the best technology, share industry know-how and ensure patient attention to every technical detail.

According to Lumina Motion Owner Gonzalo de la Barra, “We at Lumina Motion know that when you’re producing a live event, everything has to be perfect.  Stampede knows this too, which is why they recommended the eight Christie Full HD projectors and Geffen Fiber Optic cables to produce over 10,000 square feet of HD video display with precision timing between all eight projectors. We don’t have the luxury of second chances, so having a reliable and knowledgeable equipment provider is important, and Stampede helps us deliver the first time, every time.

“With the help of Stampede’s knowledgeable sales staff and incredible selection of gear, we are consistently able to deliver beyond our clients’ expectations. Stampede actually helps us better understand this rapidly evolving market by sending us the latest product info, making recommendations, providing quotes quickly and delivering products in record time. We always want to get the best deal, and they are always very helpful regarding purchasing decisions and meeting our price expectations.”

Indeed, the project proved a phenomenal success. The Lumina Motion staff executed this highly complex 3D video mapping project with surgical precision after countless hours of testing. They painstakingly blended the 8 video signals together by hand with geometrical correction, covered the building’s glass façade with a special adhesive to make it a viable projection surface, guaranteed accurate power and data relay and timing, and accounted for all variables including ambient light and local construction.

“Our presence in Latin, Central and South America is nearly as strong as our presence in North America,” said Stampede CEO Mark Wilkins. “And our ability to provide informed engineering, design and tactical assistance on projects like this is second to none. We’re proud to have been able to work so closely with such a skilled audiovisual experience provider as Lumina Motion, and we look forward to playing a major role in their long term success.”

The 3D mapping projection setup included eight Christie DHD800 FULL HD projectors connected through Geffen’s HDTV DVI-D Fiber Optic Cables for maximum image quality, reliability and precision timing. Kramer Digital Switchers were utilized for video signal backup.

According to Mario Riveros, Territory Manager — International Sales at Stampede, “The Stampede team has all the knowledge and tools necessary to help our partners make the right purchasing decisions and ensure success on every job.  We work hard to keep them informed of new technologies that can impact their business, and then help create the perfect product configurations to meet their clients’ needs. By developing close relationships with our partners, we are able to respond quickly and effectively to all requests and we strive to provide solutions that are timely, cost effective and most importantly, the ideal solution for each particular job.”

Stampede is showcasing its entire portfolio of ProAV product lines at INFOCOMM 2012 at Booth #C7525 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Lumina Motion is a development-oriented team that specializes in next generation audiovisuals and experiential marketing solutions, including Interactive, 3D Mapping, Beamvertising, 360° Indoor Projection and Monumental Projection solutions. They develop custom products for advertising, events and communication in general. New ELAN g!TOOLS Dramatically Simplifies System Installation And Management

Reinforcing its commitment to maintain g! as the industry’s easiest-to-use and easiest-to-install entertainment and control system, ELAN® Home Systems today introduced g!Tools, a new software program that provides dealers with a powerful new tool that greatly simplifies ELAN g! system installation and management by organizing all system documents, firmware, installation guides and support software in one place.

In addition, g!Tools allows dealers to store and share one-way IR and serial drivers and also provides a dashboard screen for ELAN dealers to view, monitor and launch into every g! system they manage from one location, whether on the PC at their office or on a job site. This feature allows ELAN dealers to quickly check on multiple g! systems and offers the best access for managing and updating systems, as well as providing on-demand assistance to end users.

According to ELAN Product Manager & Business Development Director Joe Lautner, “The two groups most responsible for ELAN’s continued success are our dealers and end users.  With the addition of g!Tools, we’ve made installation faster and simpler for our dealers and all but eliminated house calls by giving them an easy way to implement any changes the end user wants to make, no matter if the dealer is on the road or at the office.”

ELAN g!Tools provides dealers with a single consistent interface to perform what is required for installation and support of an ELAN system.  It pulls together many of the current g! software tools including:
  • g!Connect Pro – To log into systems
  • Key Manager - To license apps
  • Firmware Updater - To manage upgrading firmware for all ELAN hardware products
  • IR/Serial Driver Library – To manage and share one-way IR and serial drivers
  • Document Manager - To keep all documents updated and on the PC for easy access on the jobsite
  • Language Editor - To manage and edit translations
  • Network Manager - To scan the local network directly for other controllers and IP devices, eliminating the need for a separate port scanner

The new My Systems View allows dealers to more easily organize and manage multiple systems and provides data such as firmware version and IP address.

ELAN today also announced the introduction of its ELAN g!Mobile 5.5 Software, now available on the iTunes App Store.  This and other user interface enhancements bring the graphical user interface of all g! interface devices closer to each other than any other control system on the market.  It adds support for the g! irrigation and messaging apps and makes the g!Mobile iOS interface nearly identical to that of the ELAN TS touch screens.  Additional features new to the g!Mobile app include support for managing two displays in one zone and control for a home bar with multiple displays.

“ELAN g! now features the most consistent user interface of any entertainment and control system in the world,” said Lautner. “That means our end users don’t need to be familiar with more than one interface layout and it virtually eliminates any learning curve when first living with a g! system.  Managing an entertainment and control system should be easy for both the dealer and the end user, and that’s what ELAN g! is all about.”

ELAN has also updated the software for its HR2 handheld remote to provide control for two displays in one zone.

The ELAN g! Entertainment and Control System provides users with the most uniform and intuitive icon-based control from their favorite devices including TVs, touch screens, touchpads, PCs, iPhones and iPads. The standardized interface works across platforms, so that the trendy g!Mobile app users love on the iPhone appears and works similarly on ELAN touchscreens, valets and handheld remotes as well as users' televisions and mobile devices. And the system's IP backbone makes it just as easy to control the system from across the room - or across the globe.

Individual "apps" for each subsystem allow the user to control security, climate, lighting, media, irrigation, pool/spa, messaging, video and photos with the flick of a finger. Access is fast and secure through any ELAN home interface or globally with mobile Internet enabled devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, netbooks and PC tablets. Since the intuitive interface empowers users with personalized scheduling and detailed history views, high consumption subsystems like lighting and climate can be closely monitored and managed for a greener lifestyle - and substantial energy savings.

Award-Winning A/V Cabinetry And Furniture Designer Upgrades To ELAN g! For Total Home Control

Industry insiders always know best, and insider Salvatore Carrabba, president of the award-winning AV cabinetry and furniture design company Salamander Designs®, only uses the top AV and home technology products in his home.  That’s why he had C&T Systems upgrade his home control to the ELAN g! Entertainment and Control System, the world’s easiest-to-install, update, and enjoy total home entertainment and control system!

“I’ve been using ELAN control systems in my home for years,” Carrabba said, “so I was excited when ELAN introduced the new g! system, and then I was amazed when it blew away my expectations!  The sleek industrial design of the touch panels and its incredibly easy-to-use interface made it a welcome addition in my home and fit perfectly with my design-oriented sensibility.  The entire user interface is as much a thing of beauty as it is a marvel of performance.  At Salamander Designs we strive to create unique, highly functional, attractive and eco-conscious AV cabinetry and furniture that people can love for years and years, and the ELAN g! system embodies all of those characteristics.”

Carrabba’s home is controlled with a top-of-the-line ELAN HC12 Home Controller, which gives him the power to use every function of the g! system and even expand in the future to include more touch screens, lighting zones, TVs, cameras and audio zones.  His fully integrated home includes one-touch control of the Lutron RadioRA® lighting system, the 16-zone audio system, all of the TVs, the four-zone Aprilaire HVAC system, GE security system, six surveillance cameras, three garage doors and even the pool and spa equipment!

“I really like the energy management features of the g! system, such as the adjustable lighting and heating schedules,” Carrabba said. “Anyone considering a home control system needs to get a demo of the g! system so they can see just how easy it is to use, especially considering it’s much more affordable than some other big name home control systems.  The system is super customizable and can do anything you want, from sending an email alert when the house hits a certain temperature to giving you remote control of the garage doors from anywhere in the world.”

According to Andrew Spalla, Jr. of C&T Systems, “Because Mr. Carrabba’s home already had a control system, we were able to upgrade to ELAN g! with very little cutting or new wire pulls.  We utilized all of the existing infrastructure in the home, which made for a very efficient upgrade with minimal downtime between systems.  In fact, we had the new g! system controlling the TVs and whole-home audio system on the first day before they even returned home from work!”

The Carrabba family can control the ELAN g! system through a multitude of easy-to-use ELAN control interfaces, including a TS10 ten-inch touch screen in the kitchen that doubles as a TV, four TS7 seven-inch touch screens, two TS2 four-inch touch pads, four HR2 multimedia and home control remotes, two iPads and several iPhones with the ELAN g!Mobile app.

The ELAN g! Control System provides users with the most uniform and intuitive icon-based control from their favorite devices including TVs, touchscreens, touchpads, PCs, iPhones and iPads.

C&T Systems is a division of C&T Electric, located in Vernon, CT.  C&T has been in business since 1973, and became one of the first ELAN certified dealers in 1989.

Salamander Designs won three Electronic House Product of the Year Awards in 2011, adding to its long list of design and home technology industry awards.  The company’s Green Operations initiative emphasizes environmentally responsible manufacturing. All of their furniture products are made from sustainable materials that will stand the test of time.
